Nobody knows how many people are killed by cops.

“Syndicated columnist Nicholas Kristof wrote this week that young black men are 21 times more likely to be shot and killed by police than young white men. Fox News Channel host Bill O’Reilly had a much different take on his show Monday night, offering that more whites are killed by police than blacks.”

You shouldn’t believe either of them, because neither knows what he’s talking about, and they have no business making such claims. No one knows how many people are killed by cops in the U.S. every year, much less what the racial breakdown is, because there’s no mandatory reporting, and no agency has accurate statistics. Incredible as this sounds, we simply don’t know.Roger-Rabbit-icon1
