Officer Daniel Pantaleo is the cop who strangled Eric Garner to death when Garner, an African American, resisted arrest for the minor crime of selling cigarettes at 75 cents per. Officer Pantaleo was brought before a grand jury that decided it had no case because the officer was acting within his duty.
Is this a race issue? The media and the protest community are calling this black vs white crime. From what I have read minor street crimes are endemic in the neighborhood policed by Officer Pantaleo. The officer’s record show he has been a good, aggressive cop in arresting people for these crimes. Crime rates in NY have gone down presumably because of these policies dating back to Giuliani. Officer Pantaleo’s record shows no history of racism.
So what race is Officer Pantaleo? Are all Pantaleos hionkeys? Ancestry.com says Italian and describes the name as coming from:

So Danie; an Italian? Does that make him white? What if, like George Zimmerman , Officer Pantaleon is a Hispanic? Is he the son of a Puerto Rican or Argentinian of Italian descent? Did Columbus sailors bequeath that name to a Caribbean ancestor? Why does this matter? nHow do we know that Daniels grandmom was not a black lady?
Why does it matter? Lets be honest and just use the word honkey or maybe peckerwood.
The point is that he has contributed to a tradition that goes back hundreds of years. Another family is suffering the loss of a husband, and father. Although its a system , the cop benefits from it regardless of if he was hispanic or white. He killed a black man. Hes a cop and should be held accountable by the people if not by the court of law.
I think you are seeing this from inside the ghetto. The issue is not WHO polices the ghetto the issue is that the ghetto should not exist. Black Americans should eb able to live in an ethnic community without feeling that they are living on the West Bank or in some apartheid townlet in South Africa.
the issues of police abuse and lawyer abuse are related but cameras, better training .. these will never work until we change the apartheid system here in America.
