Petro Poroshenko, Ukraine’s chocolate baron, emerges as leading candidate in residential elections assuming that Putin means what he says about not intending to invade Ukraine. However, Putin may not mean that he likes Ukrainian chocolate and has actually banned imports of chocolate from Ukraine!
If the price of oil falls, Putin is screwed. His government gets over half its revenues from oil exports. If he can’t get $100 a barrel for Russia’s oil, he can’t feed his troops.
That is true. However, in the corporate world prices count far more than morals.
