Could it be that post Romney there are rational Republicans?
Contrary to Faux news and Rush Limbaugh, Romney did not lose because he was a bumbling ass or spoiled rich guy, he lost because the collection of radical Republican stands is irrational.
Hopefully, I am rational .. though not a Republican. So I found this post by Bobby Jindal intriguing. His reasoning seems sound. Birth is not an illness, and preventing pregnancy should be as much a choice as selecting health foods, choosing to drive (or not to) a fast car, or applying sun block.
I am sure my liberal friends will be outraged, but maybe Jindal is a rational Republican?
As a conservative Republican, I believe that we have been stupid to let the Democrats demagogue the contraceptives issue and pretend, during debates about health-care insurance, that Republicans are somehow against birth control. It’s a disingenuous political argument they make.
As an unapologetic pro-life Republican, I also believe that every adult (18 years old and over) who wants contraception should be able to purchase it. But anyone who has a religious objection to contraception should not be forced by government health-care edicts to purchase it for others..
Bobby Jindal
