You and I have always stood side by side to fight for the issues we care about to get our country back on track. That is why I wanted you to be among the first to know.
Today, I am beginning my campaign to represent the people of Washington State’s 1st Congressional District. Together we can make this country work again.
I look forward to reconnecting with you as this campaign moves forward. But (in addition to the campaign), here is what is new with me: Mike, Henry, and I are finally back in our house. It took three years to rebuild after the fire, but we’re thrilled to be home again, and Henry was excited to start 3rd grade at Fall City Elementary a couple of months ago.
While we were waiting for the house to be rebuilt, we spent some time in Washington D.C. where I ran a non-profit connecting the most progressive members of Congress with citizens across the country.
So we’re happy to be home – and I was happy to see the redistricting process make it likely that the most Democratic parts of the old 8th Congressional District will be moved into the new 1st Congressional District, where I’ll be running to replace Congressman Jay Inslee as he runs to be Washington’s next governor.
