Some years ago my family and I happened to sit at Sunday brunch next to a table where a covey or Husky cheerleaders were being used to woo a potential football player. I was younger then and .. to do full disclusre … found the experience extremely arousing. My more mature faculties, however were very disturbed and made me wonder whether any of the harem huskies were the daughters of people I knew. I was also very uncomfortable that our two teeenage children were being exposed to this scene.
I enjoy football and my real concern with how we do things in Seattle has more top do with whether our professional farm team deprives Washington State kids a chance to play college ball. Only two or three of next year’s squad come from Washington, though I would bet that the majority of the Husky cheer leaders are local. Are we using Washington’s daughters as a perk for wanna be NFL players?
I do not know if that still goes on here at our politically correct, compliant Univeristy of Washington but this story from The Atlantic Monthly made me wonder.
