Russell Vought (photo, left), Trump’s budget chief nominee, understandably didn’t want to answer questions in his Senate confirmation hearing. He co-authored Project 2025, which defines “woke and weaponized” government as follows:
- “Nutrition assistance to low income kids” (SNAP aka food stamps)
- “Helping kids pay for college” (Pell grants)
- “Medicaid for millions of low income families”
- Rental assistance and low-income energy assistance
Project 2025 characterizes these programs as a “threat” which “statesmen must rise tall to vanquish.” Read story here. But this is what Americans voted for, and we all now have to brace for Trump’s and the GOP’s exceptional cruelty.
