“The Onion” buys InfoWars

Rightwing provocateur Alex Jones owes a $1.4 billion judgment to Sandy Hook families which he can’t pay.

But he can pay something; after all, he made millions by selling supplements on his podcast show.

To help satisfy that judgment, his assets are being sold off in bankruptcy court.

One of those assets is InfoWars, his propaganda platform.

The satire website The Onion bought it, and Jones isn’t happy (see story here). The Onion‘s fictional CEO posted a tongue-in-cheek announcement here explaining why the real-world Onion dispossessed Jones of InfoWars.

Meanwhile, the real-life CEO of the real-world Onion told Huffington Post he plans to turn InfoWars into “a parody of itself.” Think of a Pac-Man eating itself. Which is cool, way cooler than InfoWars under its previous management.
