Jason C. Yates (photo below) is the founder and former CEO of My Faith Votes, which is “part of a loose network of nonprofit organizations rallying support for Donald Trump through get-out-the-vote operations.” In this video, he talks about “the freedom we have in Christ.”
Yates cloaks his bigotry, like his support for Trump, in fake religion. He recently wrote an op-ed for the Washington Post that called LGBQT people sexual deviants. LGBQT is a biological condition created by nature, not a behavior. Why would anyone choose to be gay in this country, given all the discrimination against gays (see, e.g., my posting here)?
Last summer Yates asked evangelical Christians to sign a pledge to vote in every election, and vote based on Christian principles, as follows:
“As a Christian, I commit to voting for candidates and policies that uphold the sanctity of life, the traditional family, religious liberty, and justice for all. I believe that my biblical values should guide my choices at the ballot box, ensuring that our nation’s laws and leaders reflect God’s truth and righteousness.”
I’ll skip over the fact Trump is wishy-washy on abortion. Just please explain to me how anyone who actually adheres to this pledge can possibly vote for a moral degenerate like Trump (although various media outlets have tried; see, e.g., stories here and here).
Before I explain why Yates is in jail, and this will spoil the suspense, he previously had a conviction expunged for possessing child sexual abuse materials. Now he’s in trouble again, because he left a hard drive full of child sexual abuse images lying around, and someone found it (read story here).
So here’s another pervert who wrapped himself in Jesus-peddling hypocrisy. Jesus is the real deal, and Christianity is a beautiful religion, but it gets twisted beyond all recognition when so-called “Christians” suppress science (Galileo), burn “heretics” and “witches” at the stake (same perps), wage religious wars over who’s more Christian; and fast-forwarding to the modern era, raise hands skyward, lower their eyes, close their eyes, mumble in “tongues,” and vote for Trump, because people who stash child porn on their hard drives tell them to.
If you ask me, all of that is lacking in decency and credibility.
