Kari Lake, a former Phoenix newscaster turned wannabe politician, is running for U.S. Senate in 2024 after losing a 2022 race for governor. Lake, a notorious election denier, persisted in contesting the 2022 results in court despite having no evidence; she not only lost at every step, but she and her attorneys were sanctioned (details here).
She also lost a defamation lawsuit brought against her by a county election official she falsely accused of sabotaging the election (read details here). In fact, she lost that election because over 33,000 Republicans voted against her (details here).
She’ll lose the Senate election as well; every single poll, and there are a lot of them, shows her trailing by at least 6 points. If she drops out of politics after this, I’ll miss her, because mocking her is enormous fun. Just use the search function on this blog’s homepage to look up my “Kari Lake” postings and you’ll see what I mean.
In the video below, CNN‘s Kaitlin Collins tries to get Lake to answer this question: “Did you lose the 2022 election?” It’s SOP (standard operating procedure) for politicians to change the subject when asked a question they don’t want to answer. Nothing original there. But Collins persists, and Lake persists in ducking the question by switching the conversation to her talking points, and making many false or misleading statements as she goes.
