They’re Christian nationalists, and they have a vision of America that doesn’t include you.
They aim to “take over America for Jesus,” and J. D. Vance, Trump’s 2024 running mate, is their hero and torch-bearer.
“They are extremely online, constantly posting on myriad platforms, broadcasting their YouTube shows from mancaves, and convening an endless stream of conferences for likeminded followers,” Mother Jones says (read article here).
Forget about inclusiveness. They want to repeal the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote, restore public floggings, and execute “heretics.” One of their influential leaders, an Idaho pastor, is an admirer of race-based slavery. He’s also a fan of male domination and female sexual submission.
These guys aren’t a throwback to the 1800s; they’re straight out of the 1600s. I’m not making that up; Mother Jones says “they identify with 16th-century French theologian John Calvin.” These people are weird, and politicians who hang out with them and carry their water are weird, too.
