Trump rally crowd boos soldier over base name

Disrespecting our military personnel and veterans has been a Trump hallmark.

That hasn’t changed and isn’t going to. At a townhall-style campaign event in North Carolina on Friday, October 4, 2024, Trump “chuckled” as his crowd booed an active-duty soldier.

The soldier’s faux-pas? Saying he’s stationed at Fort Liberty, formerly known as Fort Bragg. When his supporters booed the soldier, Trump remarked “he got almost booed the hell out of the place.” (Read story here.)

Trump has mocked, and promised to reverse, the Pentagon’s rebranding of military bases named after Confederate generals. His supporters are known to fly Confederate flags (e.g., photo below). Is he running for President of the Confederate States of America?
