Tammy Towers Parry, M.D., 57, was a graduate of the University of Washington Medical School. A comment on HorsesAss.org on October 2, 2024, summarizes her life and death as follows:
“Following her job loss she burned through all her savings buying TRUMP cowboy hats, gold hightop sneakers, and a large investment in DJT stock that somehow became worthless. Having failed to make any payments on her West Seattle home, it was sold at auction and she was served with process ordering her eviction yesterday morning. It is believed that she attempted to evade service by pointing a loaded shotgun at the process server who defended himself with deadly consequences.”
I can’t independently verify the allegations in the first sentence, but news reports confirm her home (photo, right; note the QAnon sign in the window) was foreclosed and sold at auction, and she was killed on October 1, 2024, when she threatened brandished a shotgun at process servers, who presumably were serving eviction papers (see story here).
Parry participated in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot, according to the U. of W.’s student newspaper; (photo, left; see story here), but she apparently wasn’t arrested or prosecuted because her name doesn’t appear on the Department of Justice’s list of January 6 cases (here).
It’s not easy becoming a doctor. Getting into medical school is highly competitive, it takes years of schooling followed by internship and residency, and it’s very expensive. Handling the academics, and doing the job, requires above average intelligence.
So how did a doctor become so stupid? Believing QAnon conspiracy theories is stupid; believing, without evidence, that Trump won the 2020 election despite dozens of Republican judges throwing out his court challenges is stupid; participating in a riot is stupid; and threatening process servers with a shotgun after being evicted was, in her case, fatally stupid.
She must have been a very unhappy person. Her untimely death is a tragedy. And what a waste of a medical education. If there’s a moral here, it’s that stupidity can kill. Does the manner of her death merit a Darwin Award? What do readers think?
Anyway, she won’t be storming the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2025, if Trump loses again.
