A day before the 2024 vice presidential debate, CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins moderated a heated exchange between Van Jones, a Democrat, and Lee Zeldin, a Republican, in the video below.
Predictably, Zeldin does two things you expect of a Republican: He lies and defends a despicable candidate. Zeldin repeated the falsehood that Walz “distributed tampons to boys’ bathrooms” (debunked here).
He also defended Vance, who Jones snapped back “has done nothing except write a phony book, suck up to people with big money … he is a despicable person … a racist and he’s horrible,” and told Zeldin “you’re a better man than to defend Vance.”
