He was a gymnast, she’s the daughter of circus performers, so it’s not surprising they like to climb tall buildings.
That’s how they met. At first rivals and competitors, they became flirtatious, then romantic partners. Now there’s a movie about them (trailer below; read story here).
What they do is called “rooftopping” (described here), but the movie title is “Skywalkers: A Love Story,” which is catchier. Either way, it’s hard to watch and takes your breath away. I used to climb mountains, but was roped on the exposed parts. (There’s still things that can go wrong, but that’s another story.)
Their climbing is continuously exposed with no safety line. There’s no catcher or net if they fall, just a big splat on the ground. To all the other things that can go wrong in a marriage, add a chance slip. This might be a short marriage.
