This incident happened on Sunday, June 2, 2024, in Wyoming, Michigan, a city of 76,500 people in Kent County (read story here). I’ve encountered aggressive cyclists, probably we all have, and problems are especially likely to arise on foot paths where bicycle and pedestrian traffic mingle.
But this is over the top. Who flings expletives at a 3-year-old? And assaults a father holding an infant? The police caught him, and he’ll likely face criminal charges, maybe a civil lawsuit, and possibly lose his job — the consequences of acting without thinking.
Worth it? Or better to stay calm and keep petty frustrations to yourself? Another self-important jerk on a bike is about to find out.
