Brian K. Pritchard (photo, left) of Ellijay, Georgia, is a convicted check forger who violated probation several times (details here).
He became a conservative talk show host, registered to vote (link above), and ran for state legislature but lost (details here), then ran for GOP state party vice chairman as a MAGA Trumper and won.
As a candidate, Pritchard railed against “election fraud” (see story here). Presumably he routinely does so on his show, too.
Then a judge ruled in March 2024 that he’s ineligible to vote because of his felony record, falsified his voter registration, and fined him $5,000 for illegally voting in 9 elections (see story here).
The Georgia GOP decided not to sweep this under the rug. Given the GOP’s record of tilting at voting fraud windmills, it was an egg-on-face moment. Setting aside for once the Republican penchant for hypocrisy, he was ousted from his party position by a 146-24 vote in May 2024 (story here).
Probably because he was expendable. Maybe there other stuff was going on. There’s infighting within the Georgia GOP organization, which has led the governor to distance himself from the state party. And Pritchard asserted party people were out to get him. 🍿🍿🍿
To which I say, few things are more fun than watching Republicans attack each and get caught committing voting fraud. Here you have a two-fer. (If you don’t know what those emojis are, they represent movie theater popcorn, as in “pass the popcorn, please.”)
