Capitol rioter gets 12½ years for tasing Office Fanone

Daniel Rodriguez (photo, left), 40, of Fontana, California, is the rioter who tased Officer Michael Fanone in the neck during the Jan. 6 riot.
A federal judge sentenced him to 12½ years in prison on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, CNN reported here.
Prosecutors characterized Rodriguez, a fanatical Trump supporter, as “one of the most violent” Capitol rioters.
The judge, who called him a “one man army of hate,” also ordered him to pay $96,000 for Fanone’s medical expenses and $2,000 for damage to the Capitol (see story here).
Prior to the riot, he posted social media messages calling for violence, urged Trump supporters to bring weapons to the Capitol, and engaged in other violent actions that day. He threatened to “hang” Congress.
On his way out of the courtroom after his sentencing, Rodriguez shouted, “Trump won!” We’ll see if believing that is worth 12 years ripped out of his life to him.
