Losing a child is heartbreaking, and grieving parents don’t hurt less if their child was a criminal.
Ashli Babbitt was committing a felony when she attacked the final thin line of police defending members of Congress sheltering a few feet away. Subsequent investigations exonerated the cop who shot her.
It’s pointless to argue she had it coming; but had she lived, she would’ve been prosecuted for her participation in the Jan. 6 riot. In death, she’s no hero; she was an insurrectionist trying to overthrow our elected government.
Babbitt’s grieving mother has evolved into a gadfly flitting around Washington D.C. She hangs out with the showboating Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who earlier this week loudly proclaimed she will peddle quixotic impeachments against the FBI director and U.S. attorney for D.C. for “harassing” the Jan. 6 rioters (see story here).
It’s one thing for Micki Witthoeft to mourn her daughter, and even defend her, but something else to endorse the rioters (see story here) and Greene’s antics. She’s as crazy as her daughter was.
