The Jesus defense

It’s well known that Trump has trouble getting lawyers to represent him (see, e.g., story here).

Refusing to pay for their work doesn’t help, nor does entangling them in ethics violations that could cost them their licenses to practice law (see, e.g., Michael Cohen and Rudy Giuliani, both of whom have been disbarred or suspended).

Trump says he expects to be arrested on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, in the Stormy Daniels hush money case that sent Cohen to prison (see story here). If he’s indicted, and so far he isn’t, this is the least serious of four potential criminal cases against him (details here).

So maybe he’s saving his best lawyers, if he has any, for the Big One. In any case, while he’s busy inciting his followers to riot if he’s indicted (see story here), a lawyer who made a name for himself defending Capitol insurrectionists predicted Trump will be crucified and resurrected (read story here).

If I were a defendant, that’s not what I’d want to hear from my lawyer. But Trump isn’t your usual client (see picture). And you get what you pay for.
