The Maginot Line was a series of fortifications France built along its border with Germany after World War 1. When Germany invaded France in 1940, its forces simply went around it.
Compagno (bio here) comes from a military family, but apparently acquired her strategic thinking from her experience as an NFL cheerleader. She compared the U.S.-Canada border to military installations in places like Iraq.
