Adam Fox, 39, described as “co-leader” of a rightwing plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, dodged a life sentence but will spend 16 years in prison.
Prosecutors portrayed Fox as a dangerous terrorist, but a federal judge questioned whether he has the brains to be a leader, and said the sentence he imposed is a sufficient deterrent. (Read story here.)
Honestly, he doesn’t look like the brightest lightbulb in the stadium lights (see photo at left).
Several others involved in the militia plot to overthrow Michigan’s state government (details here) have been sentenced to more than 10 years behind bars.
