Dead legislator re-elected by a landslide

Don’t believe rumors that dead Democratic voters elected a dead Democratic candidate. Only half of that story is true. The voters were alive.

Tony DeLuca, 85, a longtime Pennsylvania legislator who died a month before the election, won 86% of the vote against a Green Party candidate.

It’s probably inevitable that Republican wags will claim he won with “dead Democrats” votes. However, there was logic in voting for the dead candidate. That ensured the Green candidate didn’t win the seat, which instead will be filled by a special election. Read story here.
