Conservatives spread disgusting lie about Pelosi attack

Today, most political violence in America comes from the right, which isn’t surprising given their demonizing of opponents and violent rhetoric.

So it’s not surprising they’re trying to dodge responsibility for the politically-motivated attack that put Nancy Pelosi’s husband in the hospital with serious injuries.

We’ve also learned to expect outrageous behavior from them. Case in point: They’re circulating a baseless rumor that “Paul Pelosi and the man who attacked him were gay lovers who had gotten into a fight.”

This traces to “an incorrect early news report … that its proponents have spun wildly out of context,” CNN says. Police say Pelosi and the attacker didn’t know each other, and the attacker forced entry by breaking a glass door.

The attacker later told police he “wanted to hold Nancy Pelosi hostage because he viewed her as the ‘leader of the pack’ of lies told by the Democratic Party,” and claimed he was “fighting against tyranny without the option of surrender.” (read story here).

Numerous tasteless, disgusting, and repulsive remarks have emanated from prominent Republican figures since the attack. Elon Musk alluded to the false “gay” rumor in a now-deleted tweet. Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who posed as a moderate Republican to win election, joked to a GOP campaign crowd about sending Nancy Pelosi to California “to be with her husband.” Jesse Watters, a Fox host, told his audience “people are being hit with hammers every day.” Donald Trump Jr. joked, “Got my Paul Pelosi Halloween costume ready.”

This behavior is uncivilized, and if you want to live in a civil society instead of a jungle, don’t vote for these people.

It’s as simple as that.
