That marriage didn’t last long

Oksana Poludentseva, 36, met her husband, Stepan Dolgikh, 25, of Siberia, while he was doing time for murder and robbery. She apparently befriended him thinking she could “reform” him.

When he got out, they got married, and then he beat her to death at their wedding party in a drunken rage because he thought she was looking at another man (or something like that).

The Mirror, a U.K. tabloid, says even though domestic violence “is a serious problem” in Russia, with over 16 million women victimized every year, “Russia decriminalised first-instance domestic battery in 2017, which means that any case that does not end up with a person in a hospital is classed only as an administrative offence and not a crime.”

Oksana ended up in a ravine, not a hospital, but they prosecuted Stepan anyway and sent him back to the gulag for 18 more years. (Read story here.)

I think I finally understand why there are so many Russian brides on the market. Sane people will do anything to get out of Putin’s third world shithole, except go to Ukraine, and their women probably figure nothing could possibly be worse than a Russian husband.
