Rep. Scott Perry having a “duh” moment
Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA), whose phone was searched by the FBI last week for evidence of election crimes or complicity in the Capitol Riot, says the fact he didn’t destroy it proves there’s nothing incriminating on it.
Perry went on Fox News for a softball interview by Trump sycophant Maria Bartiromo. He told her, “Maria, people that BleachBit their phones and hit them with hammers, … and those types of things have something to hide,” Perry added. “People that keep the same phone … aren’t worried about what’s on their phone, and so that’s me.”
Let’s skip over the flaw in this logic — namely that plenty of stupid criminals hang onto smoking guns — and cut to the chase: This guy obviously knows a lot, much more than the average person, about methods of getting rid of phone evidence.
