Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY), GOP nominee for New York governor, a prominent promotor of Trump’s election lies, has been accused of election fraud, Newsweek reported on Friday, July 15, 2022 (see story here).
When Rep. Zeldin voted against certifying the 2020 election, he argued, “This debate is necessary because rogue election officials, secretaries of state and courts circumvented state election laws.”
“Now, the New York State Board of Elections has invalidated nearly 13,000 signatures on petitions for Zeldin to appear on the Independence Party line on the ballot” in response to allegations by the secretary of New York’s Libertarian Party that “some 11,000 of Zeldin’s signatures were merely copies of other pages,” the Newsweek story says.
This blog has posted numerous examples of Republicans cheating in elections voting the ballots of dead parents and spouses, voting in more than one state, registering to vote where they don’t live, etc.
Might Republicans’ false belief that election fraud is rampant be rooted in the fact they commit it themselves?
