Daniel Duncan, 11, who is black, was riding his bike in Deep River, Connecticut, the first time he encountered Jameson Chapman.
Chapman (photo, left), 48, allegedly bumped Daniel’s friend, then began questioning the kids.
“Where did you grow up? Did you grow up in Connecticut?” he asked, according to news reports.
When Duncan said “no,” Chapman told him to “get the f*** out of my town.” This was captured on video.
A while later, Daniel encountered Chapman again. Chapman told Daniel to “get the f*** off you bike,” then pushed him to the ground. That, too, was caught on video (watch it below).
Chapman, who has a prior record for assault, has been arrested on relatively minor assault charges (see story here for details). Deep River (profile here) is a town of about 4,400 people, of whom nearly 95% are white; and other recent racist incidents have occurred there (see story here).
