Dr. Simone Gold (photo, left, with megaphone; and below, reading script), a prominent anti-vaxxer (see profile here) and ardent Trump supporter, told the judge at her sentencing she has “suffered significant professional consequences due to her decision to enter the Capitol during the riots,” Raw Story reported on Thursday, June 16, 2022 (see story here).
“My reputation has been shredded,” she whined. Tough berries.
“You knew what you were doing,” the judge snapped, and gave her 60 days in prison and a $9,500 fine.
There’s absolutely no reason she should get off. She participated in a violent effort to overthrow our government.
And Gold, who graduated from college at age 19, then earned medical and law degrees, can’t plead stupidity. As the judge pointed out, she knew what she was doing — and that it was wrong.
Now she’ll have a new title on her resume: Dr. Simon Gold, Esq., Ex-Convict. She did it to herself and deserves no sympathy.
