“A suspect is in custody after he allegedly shot a man he believed was shoplifting at a Gig Harbor grocery store on Saturday night,” a Seattle TV station reported on Sunday, May 1, 2022 (read story here).
“Witnesses to the incident said the suspect confronted the victim as he was exiting the store,” KING 5 News said. “The suspect wrongly believed the victim was stealing the items and blocked the exit with his grocery cart and his body. A fight broke out … and the suspect brought out a handgun, firing it at least twice at the victim.”
The victim was shot in the neck, and taken to a hospital, but later released. Luckily for the shooter, the other bullet only hit a glass door of the grocery store, not another shopper or a kid.
“The suspect was booked into the Pierce County Jail on one count of assault in the first degree,” KING 5 News said.
They’re both idiots, for getting physical instead of calling police, but the vigilante is the bigger idiot and probably will go to prison. He tried to kill the guy, and easily could have injured or killed a bystander.
