It depends on the issue (see chart below; read story here). This is a snapshot of where public sentiment is at the moment, which can change quickly, and doesn’t necessarily predict how people will vote. It doesn’t weight how strongly respondents feel about specific issues, take party loyalty into account, or respondents’ concerns about other issues. Generally speaking, though, when voters are dissatisfied they tend to vote for change. That works against the party in power. And there’s not a lot of people who are real happy right now.
