First, if he’s breaking the law, call the cops. Then he should be prosecuted.
That’s what befell the idiot in the photo at right, shown here in court with his attorney. His name is Alexander Jerich, and he defaced an LGBQT crosswalk in Delray Beach, Florida, by skidding his pickup truck over it (video below), causing $17,000 of damage.
He was part of a 20-vehicle “Trump caravan” that had just left a Trump rally when he committed the crime.
Jerich, 20, avoided having a felony record by accepting a plea deal under which he’ll have to write an essay, may get a little jail time, and likely several years of probation and some community service. Read story here.
Why did he do it? Witnesses said other members of the Trumper group goaded him to do it, and he told the judge, “I’ve had problems in the past with fitting in. I was just trying to fit in and be accepted” (see story here). Honestly, I believe it; he doesn’t look very smart to me.
Yeah, well, LGBQT people want to fit in and be accepted, too. Which brings us to the essay. To make him think about that, the judge ordered him to write 25 pages about the Pulse nightclub shooting (a massacre that occurred at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, in 2016, read the details here). Presumably his grade will affect his sentence.
I’m thinking he might want to consider hanging out with a different crowd in the future, too. I’m not saying a gay crowd, just better people than those Trumpers.
