Noah Galle, 17, was an aspiring TikTok star.
He tried to make a name for himself by driving fast on Florida highways.
Galle (photo, left), now 18, was doing 151 mph in a BMW when he rear-ended an SUV carrying 6 farmworkers, aged 29 to 77, on January 27, 2022. All of them were killed when the impact crushed the rear of the SUV and pushed it “forward several feet into the passenger compartment,” NBC News said (story here).
Galle suffered only minor injuries.
He’s now charged with 6 counts of vehicular homicide, each count punishable by up to 15 years in prison. If convicted, he’ll probably get less than the maximum, and serve the sentences concurrently. He’ll probably spend less than 10 years behind bars.
That’s not enough for his egregious behavior. Keep in mind this kid filmed himself racing on public highways, at speeds up to 182 mph, for fame and money.
I think his punishment should include a lifetime driver’s license revocation. That wouldn’t stop him from racing on private tracks in the future, but he should never drive on public roads again.
