Osama bin Laden was killed by U.S. Navy SEALs on May 2, 2011.
Trump was elected president on Nov. 8, 2016, and took office on Jan. 20, 2017.
Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI) told a Trump rally crowd on April 2, 2022, that Trump “caught Osama bin Laden.” No, he didn’t. McClain also told the crowd there were “no wars” while Trump was president. (What was Afghanistan? a picnic? our troops who served there would be surprised to hear that.)
I previously wrote about this nutcase here. (She voted against impeaching Trump for blackmailing Ukraine for fabricated dirt on Biden, and also voted against certifying the 2020 election.) Now add “liar” to her credentials.
There’s a word for people who try to take credit (or give credit to others) for military actions they had nothing to do with: “Stolen valor.” (And no, McClain’s credentials don’t include “veteran.” Neither do Trump’s; he was a draft dodger.)
I remember when Eisenhower was president and the GOP was a respectable political party. How did Republicans become so scummy? It was a long, gradual, downhill slide that I think began with Nixon, who was run out of office for, among other transgressions, lying to the American people.
