Tulsi Gabbard
Tulsi Gabbard (photo, left; bio here), who was elected to Hawaii’s legislature and then Congress as a Democrat, and sought the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, has long been something of an oddball, not least for her frequent pro-Russia comments.
This came into sharper focus after Russia invaded Ukraine, when she appeared to defend Russia’s actions and downplay its aggression and atrocities. Last week, she raised eyebrows by suggesting — without evidence — that Russian propaganda claims about a Ukrainian “biolab” were true.
