“Less than 1% of vodka consumed in the United States is produced in Russia,” CNN says. “In fact, more than half of all vodka consumed domestically is actually made here.” (Forbes says 1.3%.)
Russian Standard and Green Mark are the only brands sold in the U.S. imported from Russia.
Stolichnaya? Made in Latvia by a company based in Luxembourg, a NATO member. The company condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Smirnoff? Owned by a British company, and made in Illinois.
Starka? Bull Run Starka is made in Oregon; Slavianskaya Starka is made in Estonia.
Bottom line, if you wanna boycott Russian vodka, move to Russia (not recommended).
