“A Republican congressional candidate in Florida was caught on police body camera footage threatening to end an officer’s career because she pulled him over for a traffic stop,” Huffington Post reported on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 (story here).
“Martin Hyde, who is running in Florida’s 16th Congressional District, was pulled over by Sarasota Police Officer Julie Beskin on Feb. 14,” Huffington Post said.
“Beskin advised Hyde he was driving 57 mph in a 40 zone and was also seen texting on his phone. In a combative exchange that followed, he refused to cooperate, threatened her job and asked her if she was behaving that way because she was an immigrant.” See for yourself in the video here.
This isn’t the first time this racist pig has gone off on somebody because of their skin color. Back in 2019, while running for Sarasota city commissioner, Hyde told a teenage tennis player to “speak English” and “cut grass” (see that story here). When that exchange went public, he dropped out of that race and was kicked out of the tennis club (details here).
He also has a history of spousal abuse (same link).
A former British soccer player, and now a Florida business owner, Hyde is running against a GOP incumbent and not faring well in polls; he’s trailing 76% – 12%, with 12% undecided (details here). And despite his t-shirt, Trump endorsed his opponent. I’ll bet he doesn’t get invited to Mar-a-Lago, either. He seems like the type who might steal the silverware and towels.
