So your house burned down while you were at work? Did you let the cat out before leaving?
“Cats are starting house fires by turning on touch-sensitive electric cookers when their owners are away,” the Daily Mail reported on Monday, January 3, 2022 (read story here). The tabloid noted, “cats have also sparked blazes by interfering with other electrical appliances.”
Safety experts suggest “unplugging appliances,” the Daily Mail helpfully added. (Duh.)
Look, I know about cats. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t own a cat. However, stuck with a couple of squatters (“feed me and I’m yours”), I know better than to trust them with my house, furniture, or slippers. Cats are bad!! (Why anyone wants 72 of them is beyond me.)
