When a flight attendant asked Vyvianna Quinonez, 28, of Sacramento, California, to “buckle her seatbelt, stow her tray table and wear her mask properly” during the plane’s landing descent, Quinonez pushed her, then stood up and punched her in the face (see video below).
A male passenger quickly jumped between Quinonez and the flight attendant, ending the assault. The flight attendant suffered bruises, a cut that required stitches, and three broken teeth. Quinonez was arrested when the plane landed.
She pled guilty to a federal felony charge of interfering with a flight attendant on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, and could get 20 years plus a $250,000 fine. “However, prosecutors said they probably will recommend a sentence of four months in custody and six months of home confinement,” when she’s sentenced in March 2022, the Daily Mail reported here.
She’ll also “be barred from flying on commercial airlines for three years, according to prosecutors,” the Daily Mail said, but that’s likely an administrative action by the FAA and not part of formal sentencing on the criminal charges. That’s all airlines; Southwest, on whose plane the incident occurred, previously banned Quinonez for life from their airline, as an action by the airline. (Read about that here.)
This yahoo needs a taste of jail. And a good pair of walking shoes, because she may have trouble hitching rides when word gets around of how she treats whoever gives her a ride.
