We learned yesterday that Trump tested positive for Covid-19 on September 26, 2020, and kept it secret for a week.
During that time, “Trump held a reception for families of fallen service members, hosted a gathering of business leaders at the White House, attended a presidential debate with Biden, visited reporters in the press section of Air Force 1, and interacted with multiple flight crews on both Marine helicopters and Air Force planes.” Shaking hands, not wearing a mask, spreading it.

Trump wasn’t just Covid-19 positive, he was contagious and about to become very ill. The White House finally revealed his positive test when he was carted off to Walter Reed Hospital on October 2, at which point it obviously couldn’t be covered up anymore. Otherwise, who knows how long the deception would have gone on, and how many people he would have infected and made ill.
Fred Wellman, a retired Army helicopter pilot, says exposing those families of fallen service members to Covid without their knowledge “shows the absolute depth of his moral depravity and lack of any respect for anyone” and “how much more deeply immoral and broken he is than we ever imagined.”
Alyssa Farah Griffin, who served for a time as Trump’s communications director, says it “demonstrates a total disregard for the well-being of others.” She added, “It’s hard to believe anyone involved thought it was OK.” This is one of his staffers, not a political opponent, talking.
Of course it wasn’t okay; it was very much not okay, like much else this man has done in and out of office.
People who worship this man shouldn’t be surprised if the rest of us question their judgement and sanity. This isn’t about politics, policies, or party preferences. It’s about the unthinking willingness of some people to blindly follow a leader of no character and the consequences that can have for a nation. Differences of opinion are inevitable, and perfectly okay, but electing political leaders who have a conscience and will act responsibly should be non-negotiable.
Trump, and those who should know better than to stand by him, screamingly flunk that test.

Since no one came forward at the time or since with Covid they could have caught from the man it shows it is not at all easy to catch the disease. This is always a problem for political leaders of any country to balance job and health of self and others. In light of false positives, a need to put a positive narrative forward, ect. a lot of Presidents and other leaders have done the same thing. Woodrow Wilson is an example.
This goes beyond politicians trying to put a happy face on bad news. Look up “Typhoid Mary” sometime.
As for false positives, there are two kinds of people in the world, “better safe than sorry,” and neither safe nor sorry. Trump is the latter. You’ll only discredit yourself by making excuses for his inexcusable behavior.
