Trump told the Republican National Committee (RNC) he was going to quit the GOP, but backed down from that threat, The Hill reported on Monday, November 8, 2021.
It seems the RNC chair, Ronna McDaniel, called him shortly before he left office to “wish him farewell” but “Trump was in no mood for small talk” and “got right to the point” that he was “done” with the GOP and leaving to create his own party. [Applause — Ed.]
Meanwhile, at his dad’s January 6 pre-riot rally, Donnie Trump Jr. [one of the stupidest people on the planet — Ed.] “all but declared that the old Republican Party didn’t exist anymore” [one of the few things he’s ever been right about — Ed.].
Anyway, McDaniel complained the GOP would “lose” if Trump quit, and he replied, “I don’t care.” [Which is completely in character for him, because Trump cares about no one or anything except himself — Ed.]
So why did Trump change his mind? Because money talks. The RNC told him if he left the party it wouldn’t pay is legal bills for post-election challenges or let him use its donor list of 40 million names.
Trump and McDaniel have issued denials. Nobody believes them. Well, a few people might.
