Will Tim Eyman become a homeless person?

Is this Tim Eyman’s next crash pad?

The notorious Washington State initiative promoter was fined millions for skimming campaign funds.

In 2018, he filed for bankruptcy. Now, he has defaulted on his court-ordered payments, and the state attorney general is asking the bankruptcy judge to appoint a trustee over his financial affairs.

(Read story here, see state’s petition here.)

Goodbye house! But Eyman won’t end up living in his car. The state will take that, too! More likely his new digs will resemble those in the photo above. Talk about downsizing! Bivouacking in a tent under a freeway is, well, coming down in the world. Especially for a man used to luxury.

In the video below, Eyman took an office chair from a store in 2019 without paying for it, which he termed “an honest mistake.” [Cue laugh track.] He tried to return it, but the store declined it (who wants a chair he sat in?), so he took it to a police station, where it was impounded as evidence to be used against him. The theft charges were dropped after he agreed to stipulated conditions (story here).

While he could end up homeless it is not likely to happen. So the Attorney General got him fined for millions of dollars that he cannot pay. In the end those fines are likely never to be paid, which is the point of bankruptcy court and the primary residence is protected. A vehicle not so much, but certainly there are a few Ford pintos out there somewhere.
Are we to take joy in the states actions whose intent in part has been to take tis man down financially and perhaps politically decapitate him. The state has succeeded, only there are not enough peanuts under the mattress to pay th state now or in the future. The states only hope is the man wins the Powerball. Good luck My. Eyman.

Sure, why not take joy in a thief who embezzled millions and flouted state campaign finance laws getting his comeuppance? Poetic justice.
