The “Zodiac” is America’s most famous unsolved serial killer case (details here).
The Case Breakers, a group of 40 sleuths with impressive credentials — they include “former federal agents, prosecutors, retired Army intelligence officers, investigative journalists and academics” — announced on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, they’ve figured out who he was (read story here).
Their man, who died in 2018, seems like a plausible suspect. He’s weird enough. However, DNA doesn’t link him to the murders, just circumstantial evidence. Law enforcement is skeptical. Verdict: It’s an intriguing theory, but only that. It doesn’t solve the case.
