Respect their religious beliefs. Don’t make them get shots. Leave them alone.
But I don’t want to be exposed to them. I won’t sit in an airline seat next to them. I prefer not to shop for groceries with them. I don’t want my masked child in a classroom with their unmasked children. I want to stay away from them, and I want them kept away from me.
If that means separating the vaccinated and unvaccinated — in workplaces, stores, and public places — for the duration of the pandemic, so be it. Quarantining them from the rest of us doesn’t prevent them from attending their churches, worshipping the way they choose, and congregating with each other.
As we all go about our daily chores and affairs, I’ll respect their rights, but I also insist they respect mine.
That’s how we do things in this country.
It’s the American way.
