“A Missouri man died in Lake Michigan on Sunday after helping rescue two children in distress,” USA Today reported on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.
Thomas J. Walker, 40, failed to emerge from the water after helping save the boys, who were seen struggling near rocks. He was their uncle.
He apparently was caught in a rip current at a beach near Racine, Wisconsin. The weather service had warned people to stay out of the water because of dangerous currents and large waves.
