“Former President Trump, Arizona GOP chair Kelli Ward and Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani tried to contact Maricopa County supervisors weeks after the 2020 election in an effort to get the county to change its election results,” The Hill reported (here) on Friday, July 2, 2021 (citing an Arizona Republic story).
Newly released records show that Clint Hickman, chair of Maricopa County’s board of supervisors and a Republican, refused to take a call from Trump to his home, and Arizona GOP chair Kelli Ward (photo, left) texted Hickman, “We need you to stop counting,” according to NBC News (story here).
“She tried to persuade Hickman and Supervisors Steve Chucri and Bill Gates to call Trump attorney Sidney Powell, who filed lawsuits around the country alleging the election conspiracies [which] were all thrown out … [and] texted Chucri, ‘Seems you’re playing for the wrong team,'” NBC News reported.
Sounds to me like this should be referred to a grand jury.
