Timothy J. Wall, 55, posted on Facebook that he desired to “kill people and children.”
Then he walked into a Florida supermarket, shot a 1-year-old boy in the head, and after a brief struggle with the boy’s grandmother, shot her too. Police say they didn’t know him.
Then he killed himself.

If you’re wondering, “Why did he do that?” that’s the wrong question. The right question is, why do our laws let people who threaten violence keep their guns?
It does not appear the man specifically mentioned how he wanted to kill people and children. So were we to take away his knives, swords, poisons, hatchets, vehicles, and anything else the man could do violence with? [This comment has been edited.]
