Covid-19 infections “exceedingly rare” in vaccinated people

Covid-19 infections “are exceedingly rare” in fully vaccinated people, ABC News reported on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 (read story here).

Based on reported cases, the statistical odds of testing positive after being vaccinated are 1 in 10,000, and most of those had mild or no symptoms; of being hospitalized 1 in 100,000; and deaths attributable to the virus occurred almost exclusively in elderly people over 80.

Women are twice as likely as men to become infected after being vaccinated, but researchers don’t know why.

If you haven’t been vaccinated yet, just do it. Vaccines are now widely available.
