Until I read about it in today’s Seattle Times, I didn’t know that peaked roof on top of Seattle’s Smith Tower houses a 1-bedroom apartment. It was remodeled in the 1990s and leased for 20 years to Seattle venture capitalist Petra Franklin (who doesn’t have a biography I can find, so I have no idea what she does, but apparently she’s most famous for, um, living in Smith Tower). She moved out in 2019, the lease is up, and Smith Tower’s owner is offering the space to all pre-qualified comers for $17,000 a month. I suspect that’s going to become negotiable despite the great views. Story here and more photos here.
It would be the idea place to keep a Quarter Back safe from poachers from New Orleans and other locales.
