    You took the bait. McConnell has used a forking move. He knew the impeachment effort was a pointless political exercise. He also knows if there was ant truth in the Democrats accusations then a competent federal prosecutor could charge and prosecute Trump. Of course no sane Federal Prosecutor is going to go there. If a politically motivated prosecutor (and McConnell hopes there is one) goes after Trump he will be handed his lunch, and Trump will be in the office of President in four years. In Star Wars they call this a trap, and Democrats are falling for it. McConnell is not a never Trumper but he won’t mind if Trump is taken down a peg and gets more savvy.

    There’s nothing stopping McConnell from being clever and dishonorable at the same time. Least of all a sense of honor, because he doesn’t have one.
